Shiseido Waso Clear Mega Hydrating Cream | A Little Wonder

I think it’s the first time I’m around here talking about a day cream, and definitely the first time I’m so enthusiastic about it. To put things back into perspective I’ve never been too bothered about day cream. With my oily, acne-prone skin (#glamour) I always had to look for a daily moisturiser that would control shine, excess sebum or help with acne and I never found that very exciting.

But now that my skin is better, I can actually venture outside my uncomfortable acne-prone zone and see what’s out there in the world of moisturisers. This is why I was so happy to receive this new Clear Mega Hydrating Cream* to try.

I’ve already tried two Shiseido products from the Ibuki line (reviewed here) and I was really impressed by the textures, the scents and the results on my skin. I also looove their Synchro Skin foundations (reviewed here) and so I had big hopes for this clear hydrating cream.

Well I was immediately impressed. As soon as I applied the cream on my skin I could feel that it was great. It felt really soft and comfortable, and it spread evenly and effortlessly. You can also feel straight away that it leaves the skin softer and more plump.

The consistency is a thick gel and the perfume, though light, is very present and reminds me of the Ibuki line. I don’t usually like fragranced product but I really like this scent and you only smell it when you apply the product.

I use this cream in the morning, and I find that my foundation applies really well on top of it. It doesn’t increase texture, or pores, and leaves my skin looking fresh and hydrated all day long. When I was telling you that my amazing Nars foundation (this one) lasted so well all day long, it was usually with this cream as a base.

I don’t have dry skin, but it’s a bit dehydrated and I like that this cream isn’t too rich for my still slightly oily skin all the while being hydrating enough that my skin doesn’t feel tight even with the change of season.

And from a totally materialist point of view, I really like the Shiseido packagings in general and this cream is really cute in its little round pastel pot.

All in all, I’m incredibly happy to have discovered this cream. I love the scent and the texture of it, at least as much as its effects on my skin. In my post on the Estée Lauder Micro Algae collection (here) I was saying that the lotion would remain in my routine, well … that changed now that this cream walked into my life. The lotion has had to make room on my shelf for this incredible little pastel pot of gel goodness.

If you want to know more about the ingredients and the more technical side of this cream, I suggest that you have a looks at Nailderella’s very complete post on the subject. I could never hope to do that nearly as well as she does.

Have you tried this range ?
