Lush Diary #35 | Lovestruck | Valentines Day Collection

We have now entered the last few days before Valentines Day, and though I must admit that I don’t really care for Valentines Day, I’m happy that it gives Lush an excuse to treat us to a new bunch of bath bombs.

So I’m here again to talk about one of these, while you can still find them.

Today I’m going to review a bubble bar called Lovestruck.

It only made sense that the emojis that are everywhere should inspire one of Lush’s new bath bombs. To be honest, I’m surprised it took that long.

I like the look of this bubble bar: it’s colourful, happy and makes a great gift for a loved one.

As with every bubble bar, you have to crumble it under running water so that the movement creates bubbles.

I’ve adopted a new technique lately; I realised that I could totally use half a bubble bar for a bath, so I take a little kitchen knife and slice the bubble bar. It also makes it easier to crumble it under the tap afterwards.

which also provides great instagram picture material, see for yourself :

This bubble bar creates a lot of bubbles, though compared to Mr. Brightside, the bubble are a bit lighter, less compact.

I don’t know that anyone cares about that, apart from the bubble experts, but it also means that they last a little less long.

But as you can see, there are heaps of it.

However, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I don’t like yellow baths. Especially when it’s quite light. You can see on the pictures and it just looks like someone couldn’t hold it anymore.

And I unfortunately didn’t like the scent either. Lush describes is as fresh and lemony. But I used to have a natural mosquito repellent that smelled the same so I’m not the biggest fan because it doesn’t bring back the best memories.

So all in all, I’m not the biggest fan. I love how it looks and how bubbly it makes my bath, but I don’t like yellow bath water and the lemony scent sadly isn’t for me.

That being said, if you like fresh, lemony scents, it’ll be a nice change from all the rose and sweet scents around this time of year.

Have you tried it ?

  • Awww, such a pity about the weird citrus smell! 🙁 Because it really does look super cute and happy.

    • I’m pretty sure that some people love it, but I really don’t =(
