A Makeup Look For Summer Parties | Monday Shadow Challenge x mint green

Hello my Bunnies,

I’m finally back for the Monday Shadow Challenge. I’m so happy ! I’ve been unable to take part for a few weeks in a row and I’ve actually just realised that it wasn’t just a few weeks but almost a whole month. That’s terrible !

But when I saw what this week’s colour was, I knew I had to take part, so I promised myself I’d manage to have something ready on Monday.

But then I realised that I didn’t have anything in my makeup collection that would fit the colour theme and I didn’t know whether I’d be able take part.

This week’s colour is called “vert d’eau” en français, and there isn’t a proper translation but I think that mint green or sea green, sort of cover it.

Fortunately I had a day out in Lausanne planned with Alexia from Lexie Beauté on Tuesday and not only did she convince me that I had to take part, we also did a little bit of shopping together so that I could have what I needed.

I bought three things : A prismatic eyeshadow from NYX that looks incredible ! A white jumbo pencil from NYX again to help the eyeshadow look more vibrant and the famous Solstice eyeshadow from Urban Decay, which I actually didn’t use. #woops

As you can see, I created a fairly simple makeup look that you could totally wear on a daily basis.

Personally when I was done with my pictures I went grocery shopping and had lunch with my grandma who couldn’t stop saying how pretty it was. (grandmas are the best <3)

I’ll start with the face.

I used my Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation, as my skin isn’t looking too good at the moment and this helps to make it look better on pictures.

I then used three different concealers. The Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection for my imperfections, the Bourjois Radiance Reveal, which I love to brighten the under eye area, the forehead and the chin and it has really decent coverage, and the YSL Touche Eclat under my eyes to add even more light though I didn’t really need it as the Bourjois one had already done quite a good job.

On my cheeks I mainly used my Inglot powders that I bought from Couleur du Paradis.
I did a bit (too much) of contouring with the shade 505, powdered under my eyes with the shade 503, and then used both blushers, 57 and 37. The darker one on the apple of my cheeks and the lighter one more broadly on my cheeks all the way to my hair line.

I then powdered everything with my Soap&Glory One Heck of a Blot powder and added a touch of highlighter on my cheekbones with Becca Cosmetic’s Opal.

For the lips I wanted something that would contrast the mint green on my lids but that was still quite light and fresh so I chose Melted Peony from Too Faced.

The eye look is quite simple and quick. (as long as your liner behaves that is ;))

I started by applying the Urban Decay Primer Potion (which now that I think of it was pretty pointless)

Edit: I also built up my crease by applying a little bit of MAC Groundwork in the crease and the outer corner, vers lightly.

I then created a white line along my lash line with the NYX jumbo pencil in the shade 604 milk, and created a little wing. I made it quite thick as it was the base for the green shadow.

I made the edges a little more neat using a Q-tip.

I then applied the shade Mermaid from the prismatic eyeshadow range from NYX, with my MAC 266 brush and I went all over the white pencil, ending it with a wing.

I then lined my eyes and created a wing with the Sigma gel eyeliner in the shade Wicked and the Sigma E06 brush.

I added a little mascara on my lashes and then fought for about 30 minutes with my lashes trying to apply them. They’re the Red Cherry #747-S. (You may be able to see that they look a little wonky …)

And to finish it all off, I filled in my brows using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in the shade Soft Brown and their brow brush #7.

And that’s it ..!

I really hope that you like it.

Looking at the pictures, I find that I could have made it look even neater but I sort of ruined everything battling with my lashes and I didn’t have a lot of time left to fix everything.

It’s a look that I’d definitely wear on a daily basis (perhaps without the lashes though) or for a summer party, as I find this pop of colour very pretty and easy to wear.

I can’t wait to see what the others came up with, I’ll go and have a look right now !

Would you wear that on a daily basis ?
