Redken Extreme Length Sealer Does Wonder For My Split Ends

Hello my Bunnies,

*NB: This post has been written before my Pro Fiber experience that’ll be online next week.

Today I want to talk to you about a haircare product that I didn’t expect much from but that really impressed me. It’s the Redken Extreme Length Sealer.

I’m probably not the only one to suffer from dry split ends and/or damaged ends in a more general sense. At the moment, I have very long hair and though my roots are rather greasy, my ends and lengths are quite dry and damaged and desperately need a bit of TLC. [read more=”Read more” less=”Read less”]

I want to start by saying that in my opinion there can be no such thing as repairing split ends.

Physically, when you think about something that is broken, it is quite clear that something like glue is required to fix it (try and fix a broken glass with a bit of oil) and looking at my split ends very closely, I don’t see how it could be any different.

But that’s just my understanding of it, you might have a different opinion.

However, I believe that we can work to improve the appearance of split ends and prevent them.

Well I think that that’s just what this product does. At least regarding the appearance of my split ends. I apply it on my lengths and ends after washing my hair when it’s almost dry (or completely dry even) and I do notice that when I use it my ends look a lot less dry than when I don’t.

I can also feel the difference when I run my hand through my hair, it feels softer when I use this product.

I’ve been using it for about a month now, so I can’t really tell you if it does prevent split ends (I’d have to use it for months to know that and count my split ends to see if I get fewer as time goes by ^^) but what’s certain is that it really makes the ones that I have look a lot less visible all the while smelling incredible !

What doesn’t really convince me however is the brush-applicator. I find that it’s very unpractical to apply the product using this contraption. The result is very uneven and I find that you’ll miss some parts and use more products.

So I don’t use it and take the product from the brush onto my hands and smooth it all over my ends and lengths in order to make them look a bit neater.

All in all it is a really nice smelling product (it really smells great) that’s very good at improving the appearance of the lengths of my hair.

If that’s the kind of thing that you’re looking for, then I’d strongly recommend you check it out. And if you find a product that does fix existing split ends, I’m all ears !

You can find this product on feelunique for instance, here.

Do you know it ?

  • It has a brush applicator? I can't imagine this being really practical, I'd do it the same way and just apply the product onto my hands first. The product itself does sound pretty good 🙂
