5 Things You Should Really Pick Up in Boots as a Foreigner

Another article in the “London” series as I’m luck enough to be in London this week.

Today I want to present to you my top pick from Boots that you should really check out as someone living outside the UK.

*Boots is the biggest pharmacy chain in the UK and they sell almost all the cheap makeup brands (as well as a few luxurious ones) and everything for the face, hair and body – It’s a beauty blogger’s paradise ! [read more=”Read more” less=”Read less”]

1. Soap&Glory One Heck of A Blot
I’m on my 4th one. Need I say more ?
Every time I go back to the UK I make sure to pick up one of these. It’s the best powder I’ve used so far. I have quite oily skin and I find this powder to be the longest lasting on me. What’s more is that it is translucent so it doesn’t add coverage every time you touch up and it never ever looks cakey no matter how much you apply !

2. Soap&Glory Archery Brow Pencil & Brush
I find this brow pencil to be the perfect middle ground between the perfect-looking but time-consuming powder application (like MAC’s omega) and the not-as-good-looking but incredibly-quick tinted gel application (like L’oréal’s brow artist plumper that I talked about here.) It has a spoolie on one end to comb through your eyebrows and a really thin pencil on the other that helps you create hair-like strokes to fill in your brows.
You can read more about it here where I compare it to its brother.

3. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
This is a really good and cheap heavy duty concealer. It covers most pimples and under eye circles, even the more stubborn ones without looking too cakey.
However, don’t buy it if you’re looking for light coverage. Like I said, this is heavy duty !

4. Una Brennan Skin Renew Cleansing Oil
The whole Una Brennan range (well everything I tried anyway) is fantastic. I love the clay mask as well. But this cleansing oil is incredible ! It removes every last scrap of makeup (even waterproof) without burning the eyes and as you need very little it ends up being quite cheap. The one thing that could bother some of us is the scent. It is very citrussy (I used to not like it but I got used to it).
I wrote a full review that you can read here.

5. Soap&Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream
I love the whole Soap&Glory body range but this one is my favourite scent ! It’s smells like lemon but it’s sweet as the same time. This almost feels like whipped cream as it is very airy on the skin and extremely soft. It’s the most comforting body moisturiser I’ve ever tried. But I suggest you check the whole range to find your favourite scent. They’re all really really good !

I realise that this list is very Soap&Glory heavy but a lot of the other brands you can now find pretty much everywhere from Switzerland be it in stores or online so if you go to Boots and are limited I really suggest checking out these three brands in general.

What are your favourite products/brands from the drugstore ?

  • It is a CRIME that Soap & Glory isn't available in Europe! I also really like the sound of the Una Brennan Cleansing Oil. I've yet to find an oil that doesn't burn my eyes (I feel like they should come with a warning not to use them on the eye rather than pretending they're great for removing eye make up). Hope you're having a fab time in London! x
